    Thanks for finding these.  I fixed most of them
    the way you suggested, though I was a little
    more conservative about the big changes.
    
    Also, some of the warnings were really just
    a compiler bug (should have printed a different
    warning) and thus no need for rval.
    
    The new compiler code will come out soon
    but all the code should be warning free now.
